PORT ROYAL GOLF CLUB

18 holes Length: 6,425 yards

Par: 71

Robert Trent Jones has taken full advantage of some of Bermuda's most stunning South Shore terrain in the laying out this popular and demanding course. The cliff-side holes are especially memorable. The 6,561 yards meander through some of Bermuda's most lush and scenic ocean-side terrain. Owned and operated by the Bermuda Government, the links opened for play in 1970 and is more than adequate evidence of the genius of Robert Trent Jones. In truth, it provides the ideal test of golf: good shots are rewarded and bad shots penalized. Playing from the back tees, the par-71 course challenges even the finest players and it does so from the first to the 18th hole. The par-four first is a dog-leg right of 432 yards; the par-four 405 yard 18th is an uphill struggle that is alleviated only by thoughts of the elegant clubhouse with its bar and lounge. Between the first and 18th are some of the finest golf holes to be found anywhere.

The golf course is situated on the eastern tip of the island, Bermuda's Discovery Point, and is surrounded by much history with Fort St. Catherine on the north east of the backside, Fort George left of the second fairway and the Gun Powder Tavern across from the 13th tee. This par 62, 4,043 yard course is challenging and breathtakingly beautiful, with ocean views on every hole. Located at the east end of the island this course is close to many cultural attractions.

OCEAN VIEW GOLF CLUB

9 holes played twice Length: 2,956 yards

Par: 35

Located in the verdant center of the Island in Devonshire Parish, Ocean View is owned and maintained by the Government of Bermuda. On this fully matured course, one enjoys splendid vistas of the Atlantic from several of the elevated tees. At 2,940 yards, it may seem tame enough, but guess again. Its unpredictable terrain and rambling hills remain, as you will soon discover, doggedly resistant to low scoring. This Par 35, superbly challenging course has proven to be as competitive as it is picturesque. The elevated, central location offers wide North Shore vistas. With 18 tee positions, you'll want to add a second nine to your conquest of the first.

FAIRMONT SOUTHAMPTON PRINCESS GOLF CLUB

18 holes Length: 2,684 yards

The average playing time for this 2,684-yard course is two hours with every iron in the bag being called into play over a hilly, panoramic layout. It is located on the grounds of the luxurious resort, The Fairmont Southampton Princess. An island gem designed to take your short game to new heights, The Fairmont Southampton Golf Course features 18 challenging par 3 holes. Taking advantage of the beautiful surroundings and dramatic elevation changes, this 2,684-yard course forces prudent club selection, with wind a definite factor.

BELMONT HILLS GOLF CLUB

18 holes Length: 6,100 yards

Par: 70

Belmont Hills is a perfect example of what happens when you invite a veteran course designer to a sub-tropical paradise. Californian architect Algie Pulley, who is a member of the American Society of Golf Course Architects, has created a magnificent layout that maximizes the Island’s beauty and the golfer’s experience. This demanding 18-hole course features panoramic views of the Great Sound and Hamilton Harbour. Every one of the 6,100 yards of intense bunkering, multi-tiered greens and slender fairways will thoroughly test your skills. When it comes to Bermudian courses, Belmont Hills is unique in its use of water hazards as there are no rivers or creeks in Bermuda, and only a handful of natural fresh-water ponds. Two large man-made ponds have been created, and come into play on several of the holes. The greens? Bermuda Grass of course.
